Baby Supplies – A Must-Have For New Moms

Baby supplies are a must for any new mom. From baby blankets and hats to nursing covers and bottle warmers, these essentials will help you and your family get through the early days of parenthood.

There is no hard-and-fast rule for when to start buying baby items, but many parents begin shopping for their newborn at around 12 weeks of pregnancy. Others prefer to wait until they know the gender of their child. In either case, Sam’s Club has everything you need to make your life easier and prepare for the arrival of your little one.

Clothes

Babies grow quickly, so you’ll want to stock up on clothes in sizes that fit until your child is about 18 months old. This includes a wide range of onesies, pants, and socks that are soft and comfortable to wear.

Swaddles and blankets are also a must-have. If you can, buy a baby swaddle that ties in the back to create a secure, cozy wrap for your baby. You can also get a hooded towel, which helps keep your baby warm after a bath.

Towels and washcloths are another important item for babies. A soft towel can be used to dry your baby after a bath and a washcloth is handy for gently wiping up spills or rashes.

Baby moisturizer is a must if your baby has dry patches of skin. It’s important to use a baby moisturizer that isn’t perfumed, which can cause allergies.

Changing table

A changing table with drawers or shelves is essential for safely preparing your newborn’s diaper and clothes. Some tables come with a safety strap that keeps your baby from falling over. You should always be able to put your hand on your baby, so never leave them alone on a changing table or crib without supervision.

Diapers and wipes

Diapers are a must-have for any baby. Even if you decide to use cloth or re-usable diapers, you’ll want to have several dozen in stock at all times. Expect to go through 10 or more per day in your baby’s first month, so a stock of at least 300 should be enough.

Disposable wipes or washcloths for cleaning your baby’s bottom are also a must-have. A 72-pack of sensitive skin wipes should last you a while.

Ointment or barrier cream to prevent rash: Doctor-approved Aquaphor should be your top choice.

Feeding equipment

The most important things you’ll need for feeding your baby are bottles, a breast pump, and bottle warmers. You’ll also need a thermo bottle tote that will hold up to six bottles at a time and can be easily carried around. You’ll also need a milk storage container and a lactation aid if you plan on breastfeeding.

Clothing

Your baby may only need a few pieces of clothing for the first year. But in the first few months, you’ll want to buy a variety of clothes in sizes that are easy to change. Consider a mix of short-sleeved and long-sleeved onesies and organic cotton bodysuits.
