Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Review

If your clients have dry or damaged hair, the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate line is the perfect solution for them. It is a four step hair care system that includes a shampoo, conditioner, leave-in treatment and intensive treatment that will repair and protect color-treated hair. This line is formulated for all hair types and textures, so you’ll be able to find the right products for your client’s specific needs. The products are infused with Citric Acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid that helps strengthen weakened bonds to improve strength and resiliency.

In addition to strengthening strands, this product also protects against color fade, which is a big concern for many clients. It works to rebalance the hair’s pH, and it does so without the use of harsh chemicals. The system is also sulfate free, which makes it the perfect product for those with sensitive scalps.

The Shampoo

The first thing you’ll want to do is assess your client’s hair. Take an inch-wide section of their hair and run your fingers through it, paying close attention to the texture and feel. If you feel rough spots, kinks or sections that snap off under tension, their hair is likely damaged.

Once you’ve assessed their hair, apply the Acidic Bonding Concentrate shampoo to the scalp and gently massage it in. Rinse out the shampoo and follow with the conditioner, leaving it on for five to ten minutes.

This product is sulfate free, which means you can use it as often as you need to. It also features a blend of nourishing ingredients that will help to smooth and moisturize the hair. After using the conditioner, rinse out and style as usual.

As a leave-in treatment, this product can be applied to the hair from the mid lengths to the ends. Be careful not to over apply, as it can make the hair feel greasy or heavy.

To use this product, apply the Intensive Pre-Treatment to wet hair, focusing on the mid lengths and ends. Leave it on for a few minutes, and then rinse out and style as usual. The Intensive Pre-Treatment is sulfate free, and it has been infused with citric acid to help balance the hair’s pH. The Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Treatment can be used on its own or mixed with the other products in the acidic bonding concentration range. The entire Acidic Bonding Concentrate hair care system is Cradle To Cradle Certified, and it is made of recycled plastics. Additionally, the brand has partnered with The Braille Institute to add Braille instructions to the packaging, making it easier for blind and low vision users to navigate the product.
